Online Academy - FAQs


  1. How do I register to use the Online Kansas Reading Academy?

    If you already have a User Account simply Login using your email address and password.

    If you do NOT have a User Account, registration is a two-step process:

    1. Create a User Account.
    2. Click the link that is emailed to you in the Account Activation email.

  2. I lost my password. How do I get a new one?

    Use this form to reset your password if you have forgotten it. Type your email address and hit the submit button. An e-mail will be sent to your address with instructions on how to reset your password.

  3. 3. Where should I go for technology help?

    The Online Academy Technology Requirements page lists the minimum technology requirements to view PowerPoint presentations and video clips in the Online Academy.

  4. Where can I get Real Player?

    You may download Real Player from its official site at www.real.com.

  5. When I tried to open the presentation and video clips, they would not play.

    Make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements listed on the Technology Requirements page.

    Check that Real Player is installed on your computer.

    If you continue to have problems playing video clips, contact your school's technology department. Some school districts block access to RealPlayer files for security reasons.

  6. The activities say to work in pairs or with a small group of people. What if I am the only teacher at my building accessing the Academy?

    The intent of this Academy is to be interactive. Having the opportunity to talk and work with other teachers deepens your interest and understanding of the content. In the event that you are the only participant at your site, we encourage you go through the activities on your own. The activities provide hands-on experience and practice with many key pieces of the content and will add to your overall experience with the Online Kansas Reading Academy.
